This was pushed as the replacement for discontinued Google Podcasts, but it sucks at the job. I can no longer play podcasts handsfree with android auto or through my google home speaker, even by specifically telling it to play from youtube music. In the car I have to use the controls and look at the heads-up screen (better than handling the phone itself, but not the holy grail of hands-free). At home I have to use the phone app and cast it and even then it won't play the right episode. TRASH!

Google downgraded the app. Youtube Music has been excellent for a couple of years now. This most recent update created some new bugs. The application would not allow me to remove a song from a playlist any longer, so I thought I should just remove the download. Then, maybe it would work. Then, that playlist disappeared from my playlist on my device. It was still accessible through Chrome on my laptop, but the phone couldn't display it any longer. The settings options have been downgraded as wel

This is my go-to music app. There are times when I can't pay for it and, while I understand the need to make money, the ads were just way too frequent at times, but not bothersome enough to cause me to switch music apps. The generated Playlists based upon my likes are usually pretty good and basically how I discover new music. I like the recaps as well. It would be nice if youtube itself was included in the premium music subscription, as it used to be. I don't know why that ended.
