Today,\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon Unite<\/strong>\u00a0announced its upcoming holiday festivities update for 2021 and unveiled an avalanche of seasonal events for Pok\u00e9mon Unite. The all-new event Snowball Battle in\u00a0Shivre City<\/strong>\u00a0is on its way, along with many in-game challenges and surprises celebrating the holiday season. The Pok\u00e9mon stage is getting a new winter-themed look along with new Holowear items for many Pok\u00e9mons. Players will also be getting a new playable Pok\u00e9mon.<\/p>\n

Pok\u00e9mon Unite Holiday Festivities 2021 update<\/h2>\n

It has been confirmed that the Holiday Festivities event for Pok\u00e9mon UNITE will be starting from\u00a015 December 2021<\/strong>\u00a0and lasting until\u00a016 January 2022<\/strong>. It is estimated that the Event will be live at around\u00a07 AM UTC assuming that they will follow how they released the previous Halloween event.<\/p>\n

Tsareena and Dragonite coming to Pok\u00e9mon Unite<\/h3>\n

The festivities will kick off tomorrow with the launch of\u00a0Tsareena<\/strong>, a new playable Pok\u00e9mon. Tsareena will be added to the game\u2019s ever-expanding roster as an All-Rounder. Tsareena will be bringing new moves like Trop Kick and Grassy Glide which will be bringing new tactical opportunities and fun new ways for Trainers to play. Additionally, players will be able to obtain a free Unite license for Tsareena until 31 December 2021 by simply logging in to the game and checking their in-game mail.<\/p>\n

Undeniably the best reveal for this trailer is the confirmation of the cuddly dragon from Generation 1,\u00a0Dragonite<\/strong>\u00a0joining the Unite roster<\/strong>. Dragonite will be released as a playable Pok\u00e9mon on 20 December 2021.<\/p>\n

New Christmas Themes<\/h3>\n

The Remoat Stadium will be receiving a renovation in this event themed on Christmas! The normally vibrant stadium with the lush background will be getting a winter overhaul featuring snowflake designs, ice covering much of the non-lane areas, and beautiful ice sculptures near the center of the map. Some of the wild Pok\u00e9mons have been swapped out as well, with\u00a0Aipom<\/strong>\u00a0being replaced by\u00a0Panpour<\/strong>,\u00a0Tauros<\/strong>\u00a0taking the place of\u00a0Bouffalant<\/strong>, and\u00a0Combee<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Vespiquin<\/strong>\u00a0becoming\u00a0Cubchoo<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Beartic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

There is also a Holiday-themed Home Screen to maximize the Christmas vibe! As soon as players enter the game they will be welcomed by the warm winter-themed home screen with a festive tree which is related to the Illumination challenge which we will talk about later in this article.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

New Holowear for Pok\u00e9mons<\/h3>\n

TiMi Studio is also adding festive Holowear and outfits to match the occasion.\u00a0Many Christmas-themed Holowear will be arriving in the shop for the trainers to dress their cute Pok\u00e9mons. Watch out for Santa Pikachu!<\/p>\n

Pikachu is receiving a Santa-themed Premium Holowear that adds new effects to most of its moves, including its Unite Move becoming shaped like a star and shooting out presents.<\/p>\n

Crustle is also receiving a very Christmas-style Holowear themed as a yummy pastry cake with cute Santa mittens on its claws.<\/p>\n

Cramorant, Snorlax, and Mr. Mime are also receiving new outfits based on chefs and cooking.<\/p>\n

Other Pok\u00e9mons such as\u00a0Garchomp, Blastoise, Mamoswine,\u00a0<\/strong>and even\u00a0Dragonite<\/strong>\u00a0will receive a basic Santa Hat Holowear too.<\/p>\n

New Trainer Skins<\/h3>\n

Trainers won\u2019t need to get jealous of their Pok\u00e9mons getting showered all the attention, as our Trainers will also have their own Holiday-themed Trainer Skins for the event!<\/p>\n

New Stickers and Border<\/h3>\n

Exclusive snapshot stickers and borders will also be arriving for this event! Basing this off the Halloween event, these stickers and borders will be probably event exclusive,\u00a0so try your hardest to maximize this event!<\/p>\n

Snowball Battle in Shivre City<\/h3>\n

From 15 December 2021 to 16 January 2022, as the holiday spirit takes over, Players will be able to Ice out opponents on the new 4-on-4 quick battle map, Snowball Battle in Shivre City. In the quick battles, opposing Pok\u00e9mon that are knocked out will turn into snowmen for a limited time. Although frozen in place, snowmen can still assist their teammates while waiting for their revival.<\/p>\n

Moreover, players will receive a gift box after defeating\u00a0Delibird<\/strong>, the Delivery Pok\u00e9mon. Inside each gift box will be a random one-time battle item that replaces the player\u2019s current item. This will keep players on their toes in ever-changing and unpredictable encounters. Along with these festive additions, the wild Pok\u00e9mon in Shivre City\u2019s central area will be replaced with Articuno two minutes into matches, offering new challenges for teams to take on.<\/p>\n

Special Challenges<\/h3>\n

Illumination Challenge<\/h4>\n

This will take place from 15 December 2021 to 16 January 2022 alongside Snowball Battle in Shivre City where Players will need to light up the festive tree that appears in the lobby. Players can collect lights earned through daily missions (up to 100 lights per day) and challenge missions (up to 750 lights per challenge mission). Collecting lights will unlock decorative items and bonuses, including a 1-Day Limited License: Alolan Ninetales, new Trainer fashion items, and other holiday-themed decorations (a different number of lights will be required to unlock each item).<\/p>\n

Photo Challenge<\/h4>\n

From 24 December 2021 until 6 January 2022, players can enjoy the new Photo Challenge, collecting snowflakes to complete a fun seasonal art piece. Players can obtain snowflakes by battling in standard matches, quick battles, ranked matches, and Snowball Battle in Shivre City.<\/p>\n
