#How to recover your virtual machine in Android Emulator?#<\/strong><\/h3>\n

If you want to recover from the original vmdk file, please follow the below steps. This is not recommended, but a repair method when you forget to backup properly with ova<\/a>\u00a0file.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take MEmu_1 as an example.

1.<\/strong>\u00a0Run MemuHyperv.exe with\u00a0admin privilege (Where can I get\u00a0it?\u00a0Click here<\/a>)<\/p>\n

2.<\/strong>\u00a0Click Add in MemuHyperv

3.<\/strong>\u00a0Select MEmu_1.memu to add.
\n\"faq-reg-vm-7\"<\/p>\n

4.<\/strong> Click Settings for MEmu_1 and check the sequence of 3 disks. The correct sequence is \u201csystem(540MB) \u2013> data(16GB) \u2013> sd card(32GB)\u201d. If they are not in order, please remove and attach again. \"faq-reg-vm-8\"<\/p>\n

5.<\/strong>\u00a0Open MEmu Multiple Instances Manager and run MEmu_1. If you can not find MEmu_1 in it, please close all MEmu* processes in Windows Task Manager and open it again.

Note:<\/strong>\u00a0If you still can not run MEmu_1 correctly or get below error message,\u00a0\"faq-reg-vm-1\"<\/p>\n

please make sure the two VM\u00a0uuid strings\u00a0in .MemuHyperv.xml and Memu.memu.xml\u00a0are exactly same. In addition, double confirm the VM path in MemuHyperv.xml is correct.\"faq-reg-vm-2\"

#How to Recover Data from Broken VM#<\/h3>\n

If your VM is broken to boot somehow, I suggest you try to export this VM and then import it again.<\/p>\n

However, if unfortunately it still fails, here is the final recovery method you can take a shot.<\/p>\n

1. You need to download\u00a0MEmuHyperv<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>tool first. There are two versions, 32-bit, and 64-bit, which depends on your Operation System. If you have no idea which is suitable, Click Control Panel> System and Security > System and check it out.<\/p>\n

2. Download and extract MEmuHyperv files into\u00a0MEmuHyperv\u00a0directory, which depends on your MEmu installation path.<\/p>\n

3. Run MemuHyperv.exe as Admin. Please make sure all MEmu processes are closed in Task Manager. Let\u2019s take an example.\u00a0MEmu_1 is broken and MEmu_2 is good<\/strong>. We will guide you on how to recover your data in MEmu_1 and attach to MEmu_2. In the MEmu Manager,\u00a0\u00a0every instance(VM) have three partitions: Primary\u00a0Master<\/strong>\u00a0is system volume,\u00a0Primary Slave<\/strong>\u00a0is data volume,\u00a0Secondary Master<\/strong> is SD Card. (Remember the file name, but don\u2019t get mislead by disk1, disk2, and disk3, sometimes it\u2019s randomly ordered).<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0<\/strong>Choose MEmu_1(Broken<\/strong>), Click Settings > Storage, Choose\u00a0Primary Slave Storage\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<\/strong>right-click, Remove Attachment and Click OK. Then we will see it removed<\/p>\n

5. Repeat the same operation\u00a0to MEmu_2(Good<\/strong>). Remove Attachment\u00a0Primary Slave Storage\u00a0<\/strong>from MEmu_2.<\/p>\n

6. Click\u00a0File<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Enter into\u00a0Virtual Media Manager<\/strong>,\u00a0find\u00a0Primary Slave Storage\u00a0<\/strong>VMfiles\u00a0<\/strong>of MEmu_1 and MEmu_2, which are both not attached, then remove\u00a0but keep the two files (NOT delete<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

7. Find the directory of MEmu_1 and MEmu_2, which depends on your installation path. Copy the\u00a0Primary Slave Storage\u00a0<\/strong>VMfile from MEmu_1 to MEmu_2 folder.<\/p>\n

8.\u00a0Enter into\u00a0MEmu_2(Good<\/strong>) Settings and Choose Storage. Click the circled button to add Hard Disk, then Click choose an existing disk, find the MEmu_1(Broken<\/strong>) directory, choose the\u00a0Primary Slave Storage\u00a0<\/strong>vmdk file (your original data volume)\u00a0to add.<\/p>\n

9. Now you have inserted your data volume into a good\/new VM. Suggest you do the same thing to the\u00a0Secondary Master Storage<\/strong>\u00a0(SD Card Volume) if you have data on it.<\/p>\n
