Originally known for its demanding role-playing mechanics and dangerous labyrinths, the Super Famicom version brings the adventure to Nintendoâs 16-bit platform with colorful visuals, enhanced presentation, atmospheric sound, and several features designed to make character creation and exploration more immersive.The story begins with a mysterious legend surrounding the Cosmic Forge, a powerful pen said to make anything written with it become reality. However, the artifact is not an ordinary tool. Words written with the Forge can be twisted into unexpected and often dangerous outcomes, turning ambition, revenge, and desire into threats that affect the entire world. As the leader of a newly formed party, you must uncover the truth behind the artifact, explore hostile environments, and decide how your group will face the challenges ahead.At the beginning of the adventure, you create and manage a party of adventurers. Each character can be customized through race, class, attributes, skills, equipment, and magical abilities. The game introduces six new races and six new classes, adding considerable variety to the traditional Wizardry formula. Alongside familiar choices, players can recruit unusual characters such as Lizardmen, Faeries, Dracons, Felpurrs, Rawulfs, and Mooks. Each race has unique strengths, weaknesses, and natural affinities that influence how a character performs in combat and develops over time.The expanded class system provides even more freedom when building a party. Traditional warriors, priests, mages, and thieves remain available, while specialized options such as Rangers, Bards, Alchemists, Psionics, Valkyries, Monks, Samurai, Lords, and Ninjas offer distinctive abilities and equipment. Some classes focus on direct physical attacks, while others rely on support skills, ranged weapons, alchemy, mental powers, or advanced spellcasting. Players can experiment with different combinations to create a balanced team or build a party around a specific strategy.Character progression is not limited to gaining levels. The skill system allows each adventurer to develop in a more personal direction. Weapon proficiency, physical techniques, magical knowledge, and utility skills can shape the role of every party member. Frequent use and careful allocation of development points help characters become more effective, but poor choices can leave a party vulnerable in later areas. This makes long-term planning an important part of the experience.Magic has also been significantly redesigned. Spells are organized into six schools or elements, including fire, earth, water, wind, mind, and spirit.
