Honkai Star Rail 3.8 Remnants of Twilight Event Mechanics Guide

What is Remnants of Twilight

Remnants of Twilight is a special battle event available for a limited time during the Honkai Star Rail 3.8 Update Patch. The event consists of 5 different battle stages, each with different types of enemies and gimmicks that require players to form a team and beat the enemies while fulfilling different requirements due to the stages’ gimmicks.

Each stage is divided into 3 different difficulties; the higher the difficulty, the harder the stage’s requirements will be, and will cause players to bring better characters.

Special Trial Characters will be available for each stage, and each stage will also provide the players with different types of buffs that can help with clearing the stage. Clearing all of the 5 stages during the event’s period to obtain a decent amount of Stellar Jades, character upgrading materials, and more!

Remnants of Twilight 1st Stage Mechanics Explain

The First stage of Remnants of Twilight is called Earthshaker Leo and focuses on the brand new battle mechanic: Back Row Target.

Stage Gimmick: Back Row Target: Some enemies will appear in the back row and can’t be targeted with Single and Blast Abilities. Defeating Back Row Targets will increase the damage dealt to the boss by up to 2000%. This effect is removed when the boss enters the Transition Phase.

Challenge Strategy And Advice:

This stage requires players to fill the team with characters that focus on dealing AoE damage to enemies, especially those that can target all enemies at once. This means that the best characters to deal with this stage will be Erudition Characters. Focus on defeating as many back row enemies as possible when targeting enemies to increase the party’s damage dealt against the boss enemy.

Remnants of Twilight 2nd Stage Mechanics Explain

The Second stage of Remnants of Twilight is called Corrupting Shadowfiend and focuses on the brand new battle mechanic: HP Overload

Stage Gimmick: HP Overload: Both Allies and Enemies Units’ HP can be reduced below 0 without being knocked down. When “Overload Settlement” on the action bar takes action, HP Calculation will be performed, and units below 0 HP will immediately receive fatal damage. When there are enemies’ summons that are still undefeated, reduce damage taken by enemies by 99%.

Challenge Strategy And Advice:

The key to this stage is HP manipulation and HP management. The enemies in this stage all have low HP but deal serious damage, and before the “Overload Settlement” state triggers, these enemies can’t be defeated. Players need to bring the HP of these enemy summons down to below 0 HP before the Overload Settlement state arrives while maintaining the team’s HP to above 0 HP before then.

Healers and Shielders are extremely crucial for this fightso players should bring at least 1 good one and focus their healing abilities before the Overload Settlement state triggers. Avoid Using HP Reduction Teams.

Remnants of Twilight 3rd Stage Mechanics Explain

The Third stage of Remnants of Twilight is called Greatsword Guardian and focuses on the brand new battle mechanic: HP Count

Stage Gimmick: HP Count: Both enemies and allies have a special HP Count. Instead of losing HP when being attacked, the attack will instead reduce HP Count points. When the HP Count reaches 0, the ally or enemy will be knocked down. Allies can recover HP Count by defeating enemies.

Challenge Strategy And Advice:

The key to this stage is to focus on enemies with low HP Count to recover and maintain the team’s HP Count by defeating them. HP doesn’t matter in this stage, so players don’t have to bring a healer and should do a full non-sustain team.

Additionally, damage does not matter in this fight as well, so players should form a team that can take action quickly or deal multiple instances of damage in quick succession. Action Advance units are also welcome in this stage.

Remnants of Twilight 4th Stage Mechanics Explain

The Fourth stage of Remnants of Twilight is called Synergy Duo and focuses on the brand-new battle mechanic: Dual Battlefield.

Stage Gimmick:

Dual Battlefield: All enemy targets are divided into 2 different battlefields. Allies and enemies from 1 battlefield can’t attack the allies and enemies from the other battlefield. At the start of the battle, half of the team will be entered into the White battlefield, while the other half will be entered into the Black battlefield. When an enemy boss is defeated, if the other boss is still alive, revives the defeated boss on their next turn.

Challenge Strategy And Advice:

Bring 2 DPS characters for this stage, as you will need to defeat both bosses at the same time to prevent them from reviving each other. Bring DPS characters that can maintain themselves quite effectively with healing abilities, and bring their dedicated support alongside them to maximize their damage output.

Remnants of Twilight 5th Stage Mechanics Explain

The Fifth stage of Remnants of Twilight is called Elegy Siren and focuses on the brand new battle mechanic: Phantom Illusion.

Stage Gimmick:

Phantom Illusion: After receiving many attacks from allies, the boss will transform one of the team’s members into a controllable “Halluciogenic Mermaid. While in the “Halluciogenic Mermaid” state, using skill will inflict Max HP-based DoT on enemies and trigger the DoT damage, and using basic attack will dispel the “Halluciogenic Mermaid” state. If the “Halluciogenic Mermaid” is defeated by the enemies, it will deal a massive amount of damage to allies.

Challenge Strategy And Advice:

When inflicted with the “Halluciogenic Mermaid” state, focus on using Skills as many times as possible to inflict as many DoT effects on enemies as possible to reduce their HP quickly. Prioritize bringing DoT team comps to take advantage of the DoT inflicted by the “Halluciogenic Mermaid”. When the “Halluciogenic Mermaid” is about to be defeated, use Basic Attack to dispel the state to avoid taking big damage from enemies.

– Sub DPS: Hysilens is the team’s best sub DPS option to also detonate the DoT effects inflicted by “Halluciogenic Mermaid” on enemies while supplementing Kafka’s damage output.

– Support/ Sustain: Any support sustain characters that can help advance and boost the damage output of Kafka and Hysilens are recommended, including Huohuo, Sunday, etc.
