When the Holy Seal crumbled to dust and the law faltered, heretics crawled out from the shadows where the light of order does not reach. They call themselves the "Unholy Ones" — heretics of divine retribution, wandering between cities, sowing fire and blasphemy in every land that still sees the light of the beacons. And the "Binders," heirs to the bloodline of the Holy Seal — are the knightly order of Judgment, bearing its totem: amid the glow of stained glass and the ringing of bells, they bind all foulness with sealing runes.
The heretics forge alliances in the darkness; blasphemy spreads beneath the lamplight. As you walk through the colonnades of cathedrals where candles flicker, warrants for heads have already been hastily issued by the mediator of the cardinal's curia. You are the Commander of the knightly order of Judgment, bearer of the Holy Seal. You must gather under your banner the willful Binders, each endowed with unique powers, undertake deadly "Gray Edicts," and, dispensing judgment between cities, shatter this doomed party of divine retribution.
True judgment is rendered long before the first strike. Face to face with a treacherous foe, you must calculate tactics with the precision of a sacred mechanism. On the Judgment Circle of twelve cells, upon a hexagonal grid, you deploy five Binders, meticulously calibrating every position. You must master the resonant bonds of two divinely chosen factions — weaving together the armaments of the Judges with the Holy Seal and the sealing power of the Banishment; anticipate the heretics' attack routes, placing a heavy Paladin in the front line to absorb deadly fire and shield the Assassins as they break through to the enemy's fragile rear. In the crossfire of foe and ally, it is your formation that decides the outcome of this judgment.
As your company grows, your trail will stretch from majestic cathedrals to scorched city-wastelands. Gather rare sacred relics from the lairs of heretics to modify the Binders' gear, and through a series of life-or-death judgments, guide them through class changes, awakening the power of the Holy Seal that slumbers in their blood.
