007 First Light is an exciting espionage action-adventure game developed by IO Interactive, offering an original origin story of the world’s most famous spy, James Bond. Set before the iconic 007 persona is fully realized, the game follows a young, resourceful, and occasionally reckless 26-year-old James Bond just beginning his career in MI6. Unlike traditional Bond games centered on an experienced agent, First Light explores Bond’s early days as he trains and proves himself worthy of earning the coveted 00 status. The narrative paints Bond as a complex character shaped by his past: orphaned at 11 after a tragic mountain climbing accident involving his parents, Bond perseveres through a rebellious youth marked by boarding schools and naval service. His actions on a mission in Iceland catch MI6’s attention, presenting an opportunity sprinkled with uncertainty — can this untested recruit become the ultimate spy? Throughout the story, players meet fan-favorite characters like M, Q, and Moneypenny, along with a new mentor figure named Greenway, who guides Bond on MI6’s covert doctrine and spy craft.
