ZALVION is a Norse action roguelike. Pick one of three characters, clear 19 realms in order, and build your character differently on every run.
▸ How a run goes
You pick a realm, ten waves of enemies come, and that realm's boss shows up at the end. A run takes about eight minutes. Clear the realm and you keep all the loot you gathered; die and you keep a third of it.
▸ Killing makes you stronger
Your bar fills as you cut down monsters. The moment it fills, Fenrir wakes: enemies around you are blown away, you pick one power-up, and ten seconds of chaos begin. Enemies come three times faster, from every direction. The moment you get stronger, the game gets harder too.
▸ Plays without internet
An internet connection is required for the initial content download. Once the download is complete, you can play offline.
▸ Watching ads is entirely up to you
There are no ads that cut in and wait to be closed. Ads only appear when you ask for one: to refill energy, or to revive when you die. If you never want one, you can play the whole game without seeing a single ad.
▸ Three bloodlines, three ways to fight
Ulf uses an axe, he is durable and stays in melee.
Vex dashes in with twin daggers, fast, built around critical hits.
Astrid casts frost and storm magic with her staff and fights at range.
▸ Something waits at the end of every realm
19 realms, 19 bosses. The Draugr Lord, the Frost Jarl, the Crystal Tyrant, the Ash Sovereign, the Fallen Æsir; each one has its own attack pattern and its own voice.
▸ Gear: craft it, level it, push the tier
Weapon, armor and jewelry each drop their own fragments and materials. You craft new gear from fragments, then raise it to level 21 with materials and gold. Past +5 your gear starts to glow; the higher the level, the stronger the glow on your weapon and armor and the faster it pulses. You push tiers from Bronze to Iron, Wolf, Fenrir and Ragnarök. Fragments you don't need can be converted to another type or into materials. Equipping two and four pieces of the same set unlocks set bonuses.
▸ Rune tree
Every character has their own rune tree. You pick the runes that open up to shape your damage, defense and utility stats. If you don't like your build, you can reset the tree and spend the points again.
▸ Companions and costumes
Pet companions fight alongside you and each has its own ability: gold and loot magnets, healing orbs, a damage aura, occasional attack or defense boosts. Character and weapon costumes let you change how you look.
▸ Endless Mode
Unlocks once you clear all 19 realms. When you finish a realm a gate appears in front of you; approach it and you are offered cards, and you choose the next realm yourself. Each card shows that realm's modifier: in a Cursed realm enemies are strong but gold and loot are doubled, in a Chaotic realm a flood of enemies comes and loot rises by 30%, in a Blessed realm enemies are weak but rewards are small. Your power-ups, your gold and your level carry over to the next realm. Every fifth realm throws a heavy boss at you that doesn't belong to that theme. The higher the threat level climbs, the bigger the rewards; you decide where to stop.

Seasonal leaderboards and achievements. Your runs are recorded; you can share a replay or challenge a friend.
