KADOKAWA Corporation has announced the upcoming launch of 【推しの子】Puzzle Star, a new match-3 puzzle game developed by NHN. Set to release on February 25, 2026, for both Android and iOS devices in Japan, this marks the first puzzle game adaptation of the beloved anime and manga series, 【推しの子】 (also known as My Favorite Idol’s Child).
【推しの子】Puzzle Star
Get ready to match vibrant gems alongside your favorite idols.
In 【推しの子】Puzzle Star, players can solve puzzles with beloved characters like Ai, Aqua, and Ruby. The gameplay involves matching three vibrant pieces to clear stages and unlock iconic scenes from the anime, allowing fans to relive the story in a new and interactive way.
If you haven’t seen the anime yet, 【推しの子】 is beloved both in Japan and worldwide, thanks to its solid storytelling and its insightful portrayal of idol culture and parasocial relationships. That same depth is why I’m eager to try this title, even if I do wish it offered more than a simple match-3 puzzler. Still, I’m sure die-hard fans are going to love it.
What impressed me most, however, are the original card illustrations, supervised by none other than Hirona Hirayama, the Chief Animation Director of the anime. It’s not just about the visuals either—these cards also provide gameplay advantages to help you clear stages. Overall, the game appears to be a fun experience, featuring puzzles, story chapters, exclusive original costumes, and more.
【推しの子】Puzzle Star launches on Android in Japan on February 25, 2026. Fans can now pre-register for the game via the Google Play Store. By pre-registering, you’ll earn various milestone rewards, including Diamonds, Costumes, and other in-game items.
