After a much-appreciated and engaging 4.0 version update, which mostly focused on the Halloween festival, PUBG Mobile is all set to bring the frosty and Christmassy holiday vibe to the game through its 4.1 version update.
With this new update, a brand new themed gameplay will be available to play along with various new items and events. Apart from snowy stuff, we will also have items that will focus on the upcoming New Year 2026 celebration and other things.

The Penguinville welcomes you to get warm with firepowers
In the new Frosty Funland-themed mode of PUBG Mobile 4.1 version update, the featured location will be the massive winter wonderland named Penguinville. There will be a total of two event locations on the map, just like the previous updates.
The most exciting part of this update is that the Respawn card is finally coming back to the game after a long hiatus. Once we clear the entire event location, the respawn cards will pop out from the special chests. A new item called the Recall Whistle is also coming to this mode.

You can use it to instantly recall your finished teammates. Just like the supernatural powers in the previous update, this time you will get some new and unique equipment. One of them is the Magic Ice Skates. Use these magical frosty skates to quickly traverse through ice hassle-free.
This item has a cooldown time after usage, so use it accordingly. Another new item that is coming with this mode is the Salted Fish Rocket Launcher. The main ammunition of this weapon is literally fish. You can use it to move from one place to another. It can also make your enemies slip and fall on ice.
New animal buddy: PonWin
For the first time in PUBG Mobile, we are going to have an in-game buddy like the PonWin. He is a master Samurai Penguin who is a great warrior and always at your service once you hire him. After starting a match, you will notice a message popping up on the screen stating PonWin has arrived. You will see an icon on the map, revealing its location.

Go there, feed him his favorite fish, and you will see a Hire button appear. Click it to make him your own assistant. PonWin can deal damage to enemies, revive you and your teammates, finish your knocks, cover you from enemy gunfire, and much more. Remember that only one player on your team can hire PonWin in a match. If he knocks and finishes a player all by himself, that finish will also be added to your finish count.
New weapon: 98k Rifle
The 98k Rifle is nothing but the iced and advanced version of our beloved Kar98k sniper rifle. This new version is covered with magical ice and shoots special ice bullets that deal extra damage and make your enemies’ movements slower than usual.
It can also freeze your enemies for a limited period of time. This new weapon can really be a game-changer and play a crucial role in intense gunfights where a little bit of ice is required to fend off the heat.
New Penguin Clockwork shop trader

The Frosty Funland version is also bringing a new item called the Penguin mini shop trader. It can spawn in random locations on the map. You can purchase items from it at a discounted price. It just works like normal shops. The only difference is that you can carry it anywhere, and it can also spawn anywhere.
New vehicle: Penguin Cart

The main featured vehicle of the 4.1 version update is the new Penguin Cart. It is an amphibious all-terrain vehicle, suitable for quick traveling through the map. It has a high speed of 85 KM/H on the ground, which decreases to 65 on water. You can also use it on ice to ski. It deals 50 damage to enemies upon impact.
Classic mode enhancements
The PUBG Mobile 4.1 version update also brings several enhancements to the classic gameplay:
- Damage reduction of Firearms: In this update, most of the shotguns and some assault rifles will get nerfed. At least 2 DMG reduction will occur to each AR. Designated Marksman Rifles (DMR) will get DMG and stability buff in this update. We may see a shift in meta from this update.
- New Area: Boatyard: The legendary Water City area beside Rozhok is finally all set to bid adieu, as it is going to be replaced by an all-new and larger area named the Boatyard. It will have many new buildings, warehouses, and hangars, which can provide great strategic boosts.

- Loot Trucks: A popular feature that was present in the PC version of PUBG Mobile for a long time is finally coming to the game. A big truck filled with a great amount of supplies will travel through the map. We can fire bullets at it. Doing so will make it drop supply crates on the road. Destroy it completely to get all the loot at once.
- Move Loot Crates: Tired of seeing your loot crates getting robbed by your teammates? Worry no more, as from now, you can pick up and move your loot crates from one place to another. This new feature will allow you to collect loot more efficiently and securely than ever before.
Visual and Sound enhancements
The visual and sound effects in the 4.1 Beta have been upgraded to match the new features. The icy equipment, bursting iceballs, cracking ice walls, and character transformations contribute to a more immersive and intense gameplay experience.
