Wild Rift on PC Kayle Guide: Best Build, Runes and Gameplay Tips

The release of the final Patch for this year, Patch 2.6 is finally upon us with the arrival of the two twin sisters, Kayle and Morgana. Kayle, the Righteous, and her sister were the protectors of Demacia for many years—until Kayle became disillusioned with the repeated failings of mortals, and abandoned the realm altogether. In this guide, we will take a closer look at the best runes, spells, and builds, including tips and tricks to bind our way to victory with Kayle in League of Legends: Wild Rift.

Kayle is a fighter who excels in the baron lane. Though she has a weak start and struggles a lot, she scales into a hyper carry in the late game. Kayle utilizes her auto attacks to shred through the enemy thanks to her passive along with the power spikes upon leveling up her ultimate. Kayle pops off if she manages to survive the laning phase.

Ability Analysis

Kayle is a late-game champion and her skills make it suitable for her to last long in team fights. She has skills that debuffs enemy champions, grant her and her nearest ally a buff, a long-range poke skill, and an ultimate that deals AOE damage while making her invulnerable. In this Kayle guide, we are going to see how her abilities in LoL Wild Rift work and when you should use which skill to be in the best shape in the current rank season.

Passive – Divine Ascent

  • Innate: Kayle ascends as she gains levels for additional bonuses:
  • Level 1: Basic attacks grant 4% (+1% per 100 AP) bonus attack speed, stacking up to 5 times for a total of 20% (+5% per 100 AP). Also gain 8% bonus movement speed when at maximum stacks.
  • Level 5: Becomes ranged and her attack range is increased to 525.
  • Level 10: When at maximum stacks, basic attacks also launch a wave of fire, dealing 10/15/20/25/30 (+10% bonus AD)(+20% AP) magic damage to all enemies struck. The damage is equal to Starfire Spellblade’s passive damage and is affected by critical strike modifiers.
  • Level 15: Her attack range is further increased to 575. In addition, the bonuses from the stacks becomes permanent.

Ability 1 – Radiant Blast

Kayle launches a celestial sword in the target direction that expands upon colliding with an enemy, dealing 60/110/160/210 (+60% bonus AD) (+50% AP) magic damage to all struck enemies, slowing them by 26/34/42/50% for 2 seconds and reducing their armor and magic resist by 15% for 4 seconds.

Ability 2 – Celestial Blessing

Kayle heals herself and an allied champion for 60/100/140/180(+30% AP), also granting both of them bonus movement speed of 25/30/35/40%(+ 8% per 100 AP) for 2 seconds.

Ability 3 – Starfire Spellblade

  • On-hit damage: 15/20/25/30 (+10% bonus AD) (+20% AP)
  • Active damage: 8/9/10/11% (+ 2% per 100 AP) of the target’s missing health

On the passive state, Kayle’s basic attacks deal bonus magic damage on-hit. The fire waves from Divine Ascent have damage equal to this effect’s value and are affected by critical strike modifiers. When on the active state, Kayle empowers her next basic attack within 5 seconds to be a ranged attack and deal bonus magic damage.

Reaching level 10 and ascending via Divine Ascent will upgrade Starfire Spellblade, causing the attack to explode, dealing its damage and applying on-hit effects to all enemies struck in the area.

Ability 4 – Divine Judgement

In Kayle’s ultimate ability, she  grants invulnerability to herself or the target allied champion for 2.5 seconds. After a brief delay, blades rain down around the target, dealing 200/350/500 (+100% bonus AD)(+80% AP) magic damage to all enemies in the area.

Skill Up Methods for Kayle

Prioritize maxing out Starfire Spellblade first followed by Radiant Blast and Celestial Blessing. Upgrade Divine Judgement whenever it is available. Starfire Spellblade can execute low health enemies, so for maximum effect try using it for last-hitting minions or enemy champions.

Best Runes Setup and Spells for Kayle in Wild Rift

Runes Setup

Kayle’s passive helps her to gain Attack Speed, Movement Speed, Attack Range, and AOE damage on her basic attacks as she levels up. Thus, the longer the match lasts, the deadlier she becomes. With Kayle, players should take runes that will help them take advantage of Kayle’s late-game power spike while also making her tanky enough for the early game. Onto the runes, we have:

  • Conqueror: Kayle’s auto attacks and abilities allows her to stack Conqueror quickly. When Conqueror is fully stacked, Kayle will be able to deal bonus adaptive damage.
  • Brutal: Kayle struggles a lot in the early game. Brutal helps her deal a little bit of extra damage so that she can last hit minions easier and trade better vs the enemy champion.
  • Bone Plating: Kayle is undeniably has the weakest start, so take Bone Plating to survive the laning phase and later in team fights it will also come in handy and help to fight longer.
  • Sweet Tooth: Overall, it’s a great rune which almost feels broken. Not only will it help in the laning phase with the extra bit of healing it also gives free money.

Battle Spells

Flash

Teleport a short distance forward or towards the aimed direction (150 second cooldown). This comes in handy when trying to retreat to reset a fight or secure kills when low health opponents are fleeing. Kayle has no movement-based ability hence this works out the best for her.

Barrier

Gain a shield that absorbs 115−465 (based on level) damage for 2 seconds (120 second cooldown). To survive the abysmal early game of Kayle and make it to the late game, Barrier is a pretty good choice. It is another layer of protection so that enemies won’t be able to one-shot her.

Best Builds for Kayle in League of Legends: Wild Rift

Core Build

One can try many builds on Kayle. All which one needs to do is to just follow the enemy’s pick and then decide the role on the battlefield. We have set out the following template in our Wild Rift guide to try out with Kayle on the battlefield.

Hextech Gunblade

Kayle gets a +30-attack damage and +60 ability power. The passive Energy Drain and Life Drain will give +15% Magical Vamp and 15% Physical Vamp respectively. Hextech Gunblade helps in the early game as its dual vamp helps against enemy harass. In the late game, the dual vamp is enough to refill Kayle’s HP to full with just a few hits, especially when stacked with other sources of vamp. I

ts passive Hextech Bolt on hitting an enemy champion with a basic attack or ability shocks them for 100−200 (based on level) (+30% AP) magic damage and slows them as well by 40% for 2 seconds which is also a big help offensively and defensively, because it will allow Kayle kite or chase enemies.

Nashor’s Tooth

Kayle gets +70 ability power, +25 ability haste, and +50% attack speed. The Bite passive makes basic attacks deal 15 (+15% ability power) bonus magic damage. Nashor’s Tooth doubles the on-hit magic damage that she deals and this item gives a lot of attack speed and AP. Completing this item and reaching level 10 signifies Kayle’s first power spike in the game, allowing her to become a force to be reckoned with.

Rabadon’s Deathcap

Kayle gets +120 ability power from Rabadon’s Deathcap which is the highest AP stat in game. With this item, Kayle’s raw power output increases by a ton thanks to its passive Overkill which increases ability power by 40%.

Void Staff

Kayle gets +70 ability power. The passive Dissolve grants +40% magic penetration which will allow Kayle to shred enemies who stack magic resist against her.

Lich Bane

Kayle gets +80 ability power and +10 ability haste. The passive Spellblade lets her next basic attack within 10 seconds after using an ability deal 75% base AD (+ 50% AP) bonus magic damage on-hit.

Gluttonous Greaves – Stasis

Kayle gets +40 movement speed+8% physical and magical vamp. The passive Stasis puts Kayle in stasis for 2.5 seconds, rendering her untargetable and invulnerable for the duration but becoming unable to move, declare basic attacks, cast abilities or item actives, or use any summoner spells during this time. This passive has a 120 second cooldown.

League of Legends: Wild Rift Kayle Gameplay Tips

As we figured out Kayle is a fighter who excels in the baron lane. Always remember that the Wild Rift’s Map is a mirror so make sure you understand the map side before starting to lane. According to his gameplay, we can break it down into two phases. Our League of Legends: Wild Rift Kayle guide includes the perfect game plan for the early and late game.

Early Game

Kayle is a late-game hyper carry. It is almost impossible to win the laning phase with her so it is better to not even try. The win condition of Kayle in the early game is to survive the phase until the mid-game without dying. Never try to take a fight in the early game let alone force a fight.

kayle gameplay early wild rift Wild Rift Kayle Guide

Focus only on last hitting minions and never mindlessly auto-attack. Use Kayle’s 1st and 3rd abilities to last hit safely from a distance. If players need to overextend to secure a last hit, it’s better to let it go as players lose far more gold if they die.

Late Game

Kayle shines from level 10 onwards, provided that she did’t die in the early game. Once Kayle has three of her core items, it is almost a secure win. Players just have to be patient and play it smart.

Join every team fight and always farm near allies. Even if Kayle is one of the strongest late-game champions, she can still be easily killed by burst damage assassins. Because of Kayle’s squishy nature, it is better to stay in the backlines, behind tanks and supports.

Kayle should use her teammates to her aid and let them initiate and take damage while she destroys the enemies from the backline. Most importantly players should not hesitate to use Kayle’s Ultimate, Divine Judgment on her teammates if they are important to the game. Kayle is a late game carry but even she can’t try hard the game all by herself and she need her teammates.

Synergies with Kayle

Lulu is an excellent support and plays well into any hyper carry, Kayle being one of them. Lulu’s abilities make Kayle even harder to deal with in the late game with the increased HP, attack speed, movement speed, and shields.
Kayle’s twin sister Morgana is also a great pair for Kayle. Her shield makes Kayle harder to kill and Kayle’s ultimate also works perfectly with Morgana’s own ultimate, Soul Shackles.
