Mit dieser App ist es möglich, sich den digitalen Führerscheinnachweis über die Webseite des Kraftfahrtbundesamtes oder direkt aus der Wallet heraus ausstellen zu lassen. Dafür wird ein deutscher Personalausweis mit Online-Ausweisfunktion, die zugehörige PIN bzw. Transport-PIN und ein EU-Kartenführerschein benötigt.
Der Führerscheinnachweis kann zukünftig zum Beispiel bei angeschlossenen Flottenbetreibern oder Car-Sharing Unternehmen in der Führerscheinüberprüfung verwendet werden, die dazu nötigen Services befinden sich aktuell im Aufbau.
Die Funktion der Basis-ID, welche einen aus dem Personalausweis abgeleiteten Identitätsnachweis darstellt, ist jetzt auch für alle deutschen Personalausweise mit Online-Ausweisfunktion freigeschaltet.
Derzeit befindet sich die Nutzung beim Hotel-Check-In zum Ausfüllen des Meldescheins bei vielen teilnehmenden Hotels in Erprobung – diese Funktion wird nach erfolgreichem Abschluss der Erprobungsphase für die ID Wallet ebenfalls für alle Nutzer ermöglicht.
