How to Run MEmu Smoothly on Windows 11

How to Run MEmu Smoothly on Windows 11

If MEmu feels laggy or unstable on Windows 11, these optimizations will help you get smooth performance:

🚀 1. Disable Hyper-V (Very Important)

Windows 11 enables virtualization features that can conflict with MEmu.

  • Go to Windows Features and uncheck:
    • Hyper-V
    • Windows Hypervisor Platform
    • Virtual Machine Platform
    • Windows Sandbox

Or run (CMD as Admin):

bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off

Restart your PC.

⚙️ 2. Enable VT (Virtualization)

  • Enter BIOS → Enable:
    • Intel VT-x or AMD-V
  • Check in Task Manager → CPU → Virtualization: Enabled

🧠 3. Optimize Engine Settings

  • Settings → Engine:
    • CPU: 4 cores
    • RAM: 4–8 GB
    • Performance: High

🎮 4. Choose the Right Graphics Mode

  • Try:
    • DirectX (recommended for stability on Windows 11)
    • OpenGL (better FPS on some GPUs)

🖥️ 5. Use Dedicated GPU

  • Set MEmu to High Performance GPU in NVIDIA/AMD settings

🔄 6. Update Drivers & Windows

  • Install latest:
    • GPU drivers
    • Windows updates
    • DirectX & Visual C++ components

🔋 7. Set Power Mode to High Performance

  • Settings → System → Power → Best performance

🧹 8. Close Background Apps

  • Free CPU & RAM (close browsers, overlays, etc.)

💾 9. Install on SSD

  • Improves loading time and reduces stutter

⚠️ Extra Tips

  • Disable overlays (Xbox Game Bar, Discord overlay)
  • Avoid running multiple emulator instances
  • Keep your system cool to prevent throttling
