Fix “Cannot Start Engine” Error (MEmu)

This error usually occurs due to virtualization issues, conflicts, or incorrect settings. Try the solutions below:


✅ 1. Enable VT (Virtualization)

  • Enter BIOS → Enable:

    • Intel VT-x or

    • AMD SVM Mode

  • Check in Task Manager → CPU → Virtualization: Enabled


✅ 2. Disable Hyper-V (Most Common Fix)

  • Go to Windows Features and uncheck:

    • Hyper-V

    • Windows Hypervisor Platform

    • Virtual Machine Platform

    • Windows Sandbox

Or run (CMD as Admin):

bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off

Restart your PC.


✅ 3. Run MEmu as Administrator

  • Right-click MEmu → Run as administrator


✅ 4. Switch Engine / Graphics Mode

  • Open Multi-MEmu → Settings → Engine

  • Try:

    • DirectX ↔ OpenGL

    • Enable/disable Use Dedicated GPU


✅ 5. Close Conflicting Software

Disable or uninstall:

  • Other emulators (BlueStacks, LDPlayer, etc.)

  • Virtual machines (VMware, VirtualBox)


✅ 6. Check Antivirus / Security Software

  • Add MEmu to whitelist

  • Temporarily disable antivirus to test


✅ 7. Reinstall MEmu (Clean Install)

  • Uninstall MEmu completely

  • Delete leftover files

  • Reinstall latest version (offline installer recommended)
